We bought a house!

So we put an offer on a house last June and finally moved in December just a week and a half before Christmas. The house is so wonderful-I never thought my first house would be so perfect. It has everything we most wanted: four bedrooms, a nice kitchen, a backyard and a garage. Plus, some extra things that are great bonuses: a pantry next to the kitchen, a dining room NOT covered in carpet, a huge walk-in closet and a master bathroom in the master bedroom. It is an old house with lots of projects, including a dirt backyard but it is wonderful. And we are feeling super blessed. As if the house isn't good enough, we just happen to be kiddie-corner backyard neighbors with my best friend in the ward! Whose kids are Ethan's best friends too! Life just doesn't get much better ;).

I don't have any pictures. Sorry. Maybe some day when all the boxes are put away and we have stuff on the walls. But for now just imagine a rock front yard and flat-top roof (both typical of Albuquerque and both things I said I would never have. Hahaha.)

Congrats, Caitlin! Sounds great! Have fun with all your projects. We're painting the kids' room now, and plan to fix up the upstairs bathroom next-- which we never planned on. The entire bath/shower area is tile, floor to ceiling. and all was fine and dandy, until we realized the grout needed to be redone. not a big deal... until we put insulation in the attic, and the ceiling moved down like 2 millimeters, and caused the tiles to crack or pop out from the wall. and now we have giant holes where there is missing tile. so before baby #3 comes, we want to just get rid of all the tile and redo the bath/shower area. luckily, we have a shower in the downstairs area for when the upstairs is under construction. :-) what kinds of projects are you working on?

Oh man! I hope you get all that done before your new little boy comes! We have been redoing the whole backyard, painting some rooms, and installing extra shelves in the pantry. Nothing really NEEDS to be done just probably SHOULD be done. In the future we are going to have to re-stucco (they don't paint here ;)) and do some electrical too. I love keeping up on how you guys are doing and I am so excited that you are going to have a little boy! Maybe some day I'll have a little girl and get to have both like you guys!
